About Us
FRIDA stands for Food, Reading, Innovation, Diversity and Art. FRIDA is named after one of the most influential female artists of all time: Frida Kahlo. FRIDA is an International Book Café in Enschede, The Netherlands, and an officially registered non-profit foundation.
Our Supervisory Board (Raad van Toezicht) consists of Jeannette Lodeweges, Lia Katalanc and Jidde Mulder.
Our Supervisory Board meets at least four times a year. Gemma Boon is our founder and director/board.
Stichting FRIDA adheres to the Governance Code for Culture by prioritizing accountability, integrity, effective leadership, and diversity. It ensures transparency in communication and financial reporting, maintains ethical decision-making processes, appoints qualified leaders, and promotes diversity and inclusion within its organization. These practices aim to build trust and uphold FRIDA's commitment to supporting cultural expression and diversity.
As a non-profit foundation, FRIDA values openness and transparency in all aspects of our operations. Therefore, we make our articles of association and board regulations publicly available on our website.
