Pageboy is an autobiography about the life of Elliot Page. His life was a difficult one, with abusive parents, gender dysphoria, being bullied and the brutal Hollywood scene. The book, told in short stories, has a lot of lows and a lot of highs. For me it was a little hard to start reading it, because the stories can be all over the place. After about 100 pages, I grew into the writing style and loved it! For me, someone who is queer and has genderdysphoria, I could find myself in some of the stories. I definitely shed some tears while reading this story. For some stories Elliot used fake names or no names at all (most of them about film producers) and it did make me a bit curious who it would be. Although this book would never be a literary highstander, it’s definitely worth reading. I give the book 3,5 stars!
